“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The Feast
This verse names a specific day, this day, not a general, abstract instruction to rejoice eventually or someday, but a concrete, present-tense claim about the actual day currently unfolding, made by the LORD, worth rejoicing and being glad in specifically, today, not deferred to some more convenient future occasion.
This is worth examining against however much your own rejoicing has been deferred, waiting for a better day, a more convenient season, circumstances finally aligned well enough to justify genuine gladness. This verse insists otherwise, this day, whatever it actually holds, made by the LORD, worth rejoicing in now.
Notice we will rejoice and be glad, active choice, not passive waiting for gladness to arrive on its own. This day being made by the LORD does not automatically produce rejoicing without the deliberate choice this verse names directly, will rejoice, an act of will applied to this specific, actual day.
Whatever today actually holds, ordinary or difficult, choose today, deliberately, to rejoice and be glad in it, following this verse’s specific, present-tense claim. This is the day. Not someday. Not once circumstances improve. This actual day, made by the LORD, worth genuine rejoicing right now.
Keep the Feast

- Choose today, deliberately, to rejoice in this specific day, whatever it actually holds.
- Name one specific reason this actual day, made by the LORD, is worth genuine gladness.
Prayer
