“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”
The Battle
This psalm names a specific, practical answer here, worth examining directly, according to thy word, God’s own word named as the actual, specific means this cleansing requires, worth holding as this movement’s own needed instruction, not vague willpower alone, but this described, concrete, external resource.
This is worth applying against however much your own attempts at change have relied on internal willpower alone, without this further, described resource, God’s own word, actually consulted and applied, worth examining whether scripture has genuinely, practically shaped your own specific, daily strategy.
Notice taking heed, active, deliberate attention, worth holding as needed correction against passive, occasional scripture reading, rather than this described, genuine heeding, actual, practical application, worth considering what taking heed to God’s word might actually look like in your own daily practice.
Consider today what taking heed according to thy word actually requires practically, not passive, occasional reading, but this described, active heeding, worth practicing today as genuine, concrete strategy, trusting scripture itself as the actual, specific means this psalm names for genuine cleansing.
