← The Freed

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus... For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:1-2

The Chain

Paul names a comprehensive claim here, no condemnation, worth holding directly against whatever relentless accusation this book’s earlier movements have named, day nine of the previous book’s exploration of the enemy, still relevant here, condemnation named specifically as genuinely, comprehensively absent for them which are in Christ Jesus.

Notice made me free from the law of sin and death, the specific mechanism named, the law of the Spirit of life actually superseding, replacing, this other law entirely, not merely mitigating its effects but genuinely, comprehensively freeing from its actual governing authority altogether.

This is worth examining against however much condemnation, rather than this verse’s stated no condemnation, has continued to characterize your own internal experience regarding this specific struggle, ongoing guilt and self-accusation persisting despite this verse’s direct, comprehensive claim about what is actually, genuinely true.

Whatever condemnation currently persists in your own experience regarding this pattern, receive today this verse’s actual, comprehensive claim. There is therefore now no condemnation. Let this settled truth, not ongoing, relentless self-accusation, be what actually governs how you understand your own current standing before God.

Break the Chain

  • Notice any ongoing condemnation that has persisted despite this verse’s comprehensive claim.
  • Receive today no condemnation as actually, genuinely true, not merely theoretically correct.
  • Let this settled truth govern your self-understanding today, not ongoing, relentless self- accusation.

Prayer

Lord, there is therefore now no condemnation to me, in Christ Jesus. Let this settled truth actually govern how I see myself today, not ongoing, relentless self-accusation. Amen.

Carry this today

No condemnation is comprehensively, genuinely true, not merely a theoretical claim.
