Thirty Days · Wounded, Forgiven, Forgiving
Read this the way you would actually sit with someone who has genuinely been wronged: honest about the actual wound, patient enough to understand forgiveness deeply before extending it, willing to do the real, costly work of actually letting go.
For the next thirty days you are going to look honestly at forgiveness: what it actually means to name a genuine wound without minimizing it, what it costs to truly understand how much you yourself have been forgiven, and what it takes to actually, practically extend that same forgiveness to whoever wronged you. This will not be a study that rushes you past real pain toward premature reconciliation. It takes the wound as seriously as the healing, because forgiveness that skips the honest naming rarely lasts.
The work is arranged in three movements of ten days each, following Joseph’s own story as a single thread from beginning to end. First, Wounded: honest naming of what was actually done to you. Then, Forgiven: understanding, deeply, the forgiveness you yourself have already received. Then, Forgiving: the actual, practical work of extending that same forgiveness to others.
Each day gives you the same tools. A verse to anchor you. A short reflection to be read slowly, not skimmed. A response to actually live out, because truth you only agree with changes little in an actual wound. A prayer to pray in your own words. And one line to carry with you into the day ahead.
How to use it: read one day at a time, unhurried, in order if you can. Let the reflection meet your actual wound, not a hypothetical one. Actually do the response. Pray the prayer, then keep praying in your own words.
All Scripture here is from the King James Version. What was meant for evil, he is still able to mean for good. Begin.
