Weary With My Groaning

Part One · Wounded · 1 minute read

← The Forgiven

“I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Mine eye is consumed because of grief.”
Psalm 6:6-7

The Wound

David names genuine, physical exhaustion here, weary with my groaning, all the night, worth holding as honest acknowledgment that a real wound produces real, embodied cost, not merely emotional discomfort but actual physical exhaustion, tears, sleeplessness, worth naming this directly and specifically.

This is worth examining against however much your own grief over this wound has been treated as something to simply move past efficiently, rather than this psalm’s own honest naming of genuine, ongoing physical toll, this exhaustion itself worth acknowledging, not evidence of insufficient resilience.

Notice mine eye is consumed because of grief, comprehensive language, this grief described as genuinely consuming, not a minor inconvenience politely managed but something actually, physically depleting, worth holding as permission for whatever genuine exhaustion your own wound has actually produced.

Whatever physical toll your own wound has actually taken, sleeplessness, tears, genuine exhaustion, name it honestly today, following David’s own direct testimony, not evidence of insufficient strength, but honest, embodied acknowledgment of what a real wound genuinely, actually costs.

Choose Forgiveness

  • Name honestly the actual, physical toll your own wound has produced, not merely emotional discomfort.
  • Receive this exhaustion as honest evidence of a real wound, not insufficient resilience.
  • Rest today, specifically, as legitimate response to this genuine, embodied grief.

Prayer

Lord, I am weary with my groaning, my couch watered with tears. Let me name this physical toll honestly, not evidence of weakness, but honest cost of a genuine wound. Amen.

Carry this today

A real wound produces real, physical cost. This exhaustion is honest, not weakness.
