Thirty Days With the Good Shepherd

Begin Day 1 ↓

Thirty Days · One Flock, One Shepherd

A slow walk through Psalm 23 for the one who is tired and needs a shepherd.

Walk slowly here, the way a flock actually moves. There is no reward for rushing.

For the next thirty days you are going to walk with the Good Shepherd through Psalm 23 and the wider picture scripture gives of who he is. This will not be demanding. It is meant to be gentler, the kind of steady, unhurried company a tired flock actually needs.

The work is arranged in three movements of ten days each. First, the Shepherd himself: who he is, and what kind of care he actually offers. Then, the Pasture: his provision, his voice, his guidance in the ordinary days. Then, the Fold: his protection, his gathering, and the eternal home this whole journey is leading toward.

Each day gives you the same tools. A verse to anchor you. A short reflection to be read slowly, not skimmed. A response to actually live out, because truth you only think about changes little in the field. A prayer to pray in your own words. And one line to carry with you into the day ahead.

How to use it: read one day at a time, unhurried, in whatever order your own pace allows. Let the reflection meet you exactly where you are today, not where you think you should be. Actually do the response. Pray the prayer, then keep praying in your own words.

All Scripture here is from the King James Version, with Psalm 23 as the spine running through these thirty days, one line at a time. You do not have to hurry through this pasture. Begin.
