A Thirty Day Vineyard

The Vineyard

Planting, Pruning, and the Harvest of a Covenant Marriage

Begin Day 1 ↓

Thirty Days · Planting, Pruning, Harvest

Thirty days for the marriage still being built, one covenant choice at a time.

Read this the way you would tend a vineyard you actually intend to keep for years: patient, willing to prune, willing to wait for a harvest that does not come all at once.

For the next thirty days you are going to look honestly at marriage: what it is, what it costs, and what it actually produces when it is tended well across real seasons. This will not be a study that only celebrates the easy parts. It takes the pruning as seriously as the planting, because a vineyard left unpruned does not produce more fruit. It produces less.

The work is arranged in three movements of ten days each. First, Planting: the covenant foundation marriage is built on. Then, Pruning: the harder, necessary work of conflict, forgiveness, and correction. Then, Harvest: the actual fruit a well-tended marriage produces, across years, not overnight.

Each day gives you the same tools. A verse to anchor you. A short reflection to be read slowly, not skimmed. A response to actually live out with your actual spouse, because truth you only agree with changes little at your own kitchen table. A prayer to pray in your own words. And one line to carry with you into the day ahead.

How to use it: read one day at a time, together if you can, or separately and then discussed. Let the reflection meet your actual marriage, not an idealized version of it. Actually do the response. Pray the prayer, then keep praying in your own words.

All Scripture here is from the King James Version. Your marriage is a vineyard worth tending, season after season. Begin.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
